Catherine Harney

Catherine Harney joined Eris Group in 2024.  Prior to joining the firm, Catherine served as Chief of Staff to Rep. David Scott (D-GA), where she was responsible for the oversight and management of the Congressman’s legislative, political, communications, and operations strategies.

Prior to working as Rep. Scott’s Chief of Staff, Catherine served as his Legislative Director and handled his Financial Services Committee portfolio, where she managed his legislative activity on banking, housing, insurance, and international finance.

Before coming to Capitol Hill, Catherine led Democratic lobbying for the Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA), where she targeted and developed key relationships to advance the trade association’s priorities.  In this role, Catherine also designed and executed the association’s political giving strategy.  Prior to SBIA, Catherine worked at Eris Group conducting research and legislative analysis.

Catherine began her career as an aide to Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC).

Catherine earned her Bachelor of Arts in Policial Science and International Studies from Wittenberg University and her Master of Public Policy degree from George Mason University.
